Our Story • Since 1968

A Family Gallery, Rooted in Southern Maryland.

For more than fifty years, Medart Gallery has been a quiet constant on Maryland's Route 4 — a place where first-time collectors and lifelong patrons alike come to find art worth keeping.

Inside the Gallery
A Brief History
1968

The Shop Opens

A modest framing counter in Dunkirk becomes the first home of Medart, serving families, churches, and local artists across Calvert County.

1982

The Gallery Grows

With rising demand, Medart expands into a full-service art gallery — adding oil originals, limited prints, and representing the region's finest painters.

1998

A Gift for Every Home

Riccardo Marzi tableware, Penny James jewelry, and handcrafted pottery join the collection — extending the gallery beyond the frame.

Today

Still Framing, Still Family

Three generations later, we're still the neighborhood gallery — trusted with heirlooms, military honors, wedding portraits, and first paintings alike.

“If you love it, frame it. We'll take care of the rest.”

The Medart Philosophy

More than a gallery —
a local institution.

What began as a small framing shop has grown into Southern Maryland's most trusted destination for original art, custom framing, and thoughtfully curated gifts. But the heart of the place hasn't changed.

We still treat every piece that comes through our door as something worth the time — whether it's a museum print, a grandchild's first crayon drawing, or a folded flag returning home from service.

Our master framer has spent decades learning the craft: which moulding will warm a watercolor, which mat protects an original without overwhelming it, which glass will let the color breathe for another fifty years. That care shows.

And our gallery continues to champion the artists who make this region beautiful — local painters and potters, photographers with an eye for the Chesapeake, and national names we're proud to hang alongside them.

What Guides Us

We believe art should be accessible, personal, and beautifully presented.

I

Craft Over Speed

Framing is a slow art. We take the time to do it right — because a piece you love deserves more than an off-the-shelf solution.

II

People Over Transactions

Every customer gets a real conversation — no pressure, no sales script. Just honest advice about what will make your piece shine.

III

Community First

We were built by Southern Maryland, for Southern Maryland. We hang local artists, support local causes, and show up for our neighbors.

Meet The Family

The people behind the gallery.

Medart is a family business in the truest sense — a working gallery shaped by three generations of art people who grew up among the frames.

Bill and Annamaria Radosevic, founders of Medart Gallery
Founders

Bill & Annamaria Radosevic

While serving in the Navy, William Radosevic was assigned to NATO Headquarters in Naples, Italy some fifty years ago. While in Europe, Bill met the beautiful woman he would later marry, Annamaria, and discovered what would become a lifelong passion for art. He met many local artists and started collecting original oil paintings.

Partnered with his old shipmate Jim, the two began selling art to American Forces in Italy and exporting oil paintings to wholesalers in America. In 1979 Bill and Anna opened their first gallery on Andrews AFB outside of Washington, DC. In 1985 they opened a second gallery in Owings, MD, then moved to Dunkirk, MD in 1992 — and recently expanded again into the current gallery at Dunkirk Gateway.

Teresa Schrodel, Gallery Director
Gallery Director

Teresa Schrodel

As part of the family business, Teresa grew up accompanying her father on sales calls and purchasing trips to New York and overseas, while also helping out at the first Medart Gallery at Andrews AFB. During high school Teresa worked at the gallery and fell in love with the art business for herself.

After graduating with a degree from Frostburg State University she returned to Southern Maryland and started full-time at the new gallery in Dunkirk. As Gallery Director, Teresa runs operations, the financials, and marketing — and brings an eye for color and design that turns a piece of art into a work of art for her customers.

Frank Radosevic, Framing Director
Framing Director

Frank Radosevic

From birth, Frank was immersed in the family art business, accompanying his father on art purchasing trips in Europe. As a teen Frank worked in the family gallery after school and began to develop a love for the intricacies of custom picture framing.

Upon graduating high school, Frank attended the Corcoran School of Art and earned a BFA in Photography — while continuing his love for framing by cutting mats for fellow students and framing senior art exhibitions. Since college, Frank has mastered his techniques and has provided thousands of Southern Maryland clients with excellent custom-framed art, degrees, and collectibles.
